今日はSANAAの「ロレックス・ラーニングセンター」を見にローザンヌへ。


Went to Lausanne to see "Rolex Learning Center" by SANAA.

ローザンヌは非常に急斜面な山に沿って作られています。なので一駅間を移動するだけでも一苦労。


Because Lausanne is on the steep mountain slope, it is hard to move to only next station.

そんな地形に即して設計された「フロン駅インターフェース」(バーナード・チュミ、2001)）。
レベル差を埋めるために空中回廊と縦動線を設け、地上部の広場ではマーケットが開かれている。


"Flon Station Interface" (Bernard Tschumi, 2001) was built along this level gap.
To solve the gap, a sky corridor and vertical flow were plugged in and a market is held on the ground level.

そして「ロレックス・ラーニングセンター」(SANAA、2010）へ。めくり上がったスラブが訪れる人を中へと招き寄せる。


Then went to "Rolex Learning Center" (SANAA, 2010). Pulled up slab invited us inside.

建物の下も大小様々な中庭が開いているおかげで窮屈な感じはしない。
ただ型枠の継ぎ目が目立つ。「豊島美術館」(西沢立衛、2010）の天井と比較してしまう。


Because this architecture has many court yard, didn't feel uncomfortable under the building.
But joints of molds are ugly. I couldn't 

建物内部にはほとんど仕切り壁が無く、床と天井の起伏で空間が仕切られている。


There are almost no separate walls inside and ups and downs of floor and ceiling divide spaces.

壁を隔てずに騒がしい場所、静かな場所が隣り合っている。
建築において音が空間を把握する際の需要な要素である事を確認させられる。

中庭を通して起伏する屋根や、建物の奥からでもレマン湖を望むことが出来る。

Through a court yard we can see ups and downs roofs and Lake Geneva from the inner part.

この様に建物自体をランドスケープの様に感じることが出来る。
それ故に直角に裁ち落とされた長方形の平面とやけに目立つスラブが気になってしまう。
この2つが建物自体がもつランドスケープを外部へと接続するのを拒んでしまっている様な気がする。
複数設けられたエントランス部だけはアプローチのためにスラブが地中に入り込んでいくようなデザインがなされているが、ここでは自然と内と外がつながっている。
キャンパス内にはつながるに足る自然が無いということなのか？


I could feel this architecture as a landscape.
Then a rectangular plan with solid window and thick slab disturbed me.
These two, I felt, deny the landscape of this architecture to be connected with outside.
Only entrance spaces were designed as slab disappear into the ground and here inside and outside are connected.
It is a manifest that there are no landscape worth an architecture connecting, isn't it?
