サンビットとバルスへズントーの教会と温泉を見に行く。


Went to Sumvitg and Vals to see a church and public bath both designed by Peter Zumthor.

まずは教会。チューリッヒから特急でChurへ行き、そこで電車を乗り換えSumvitg-Cumpodias駅で降りる。
ここまでで2時間半程度。さらに駅から50分歩く。。

At first, to the church. Got on a rapid train at Zurich and changed at Chur station then off at Sumvitg-Cumpodias.
It takes about 2 hours and a half. Then more 50 minutes' walk from the station.

やっと教会が見えて来た。けれど大雪が降ってから村人達は礼拝へ行っていないのか、路の雪かきが全くされていない。膝上まで雪に埋もれながら何とかたどり着く。


Final way to the church was covered completely as if no one had came after heavy snow.

外観とは対照的に内部は部材の細さを強調したデザインがなされていて軽やか。

While the outward is so closed, inside elements are fine and looks light. 

ハイサイドライトには薄い木版のルーバーがつけられている。

Thick wooden louvers are attached to the high-side light.

隙間をとって部材が組立てられているのも軽やかさを生んでいる。

A gap between elements give rise to lightness.

Sumvitg-CumpodiasからChurへ向かう途中のIlanzでVals行きのバスに乗り換えThermeで降りる。

留学後湯船につかったのは初。気持ちよすぎて眠ってしまった。いくつかの種類の温泉が用意されている。
最も温度が高くて42度、日本人にはちょうどいいけれど外人達には熱すぎるらしくほとんど入ってこない。
ホテルにはズントーとオルジアティがデザインした部屋があり、予約が入っていなければ見学可能との事だったが生憎満室。


Got on the train at Sumvitg-Cumpodias and off at Ilanz on the way to Chur. Then took on a bus to Vals and off at Therme.

It was the first time after leaving Japan to take a bath. I was so relaxed and slept. There are several types of bath.
The highest temperature is 42 degrees, it is good for Japanese but too hot for foreigners. They didn't take.
The hotel has rooms of Zumthor and Olgiati. If they are not occupied we can come into, but they were occupied.
