DAY 144

スイスの首都ベルンへ。チューリッヒから特急で75分程度。


Went to Bern, the capital city in Switzerland. It takes about 75 minutes by a rapid train from Zurich.

街は1405年の火災で大半が焼失し、その後建てられた石造りの建物が残り中世の雰囲気を今に伝えている。
高さの揃えられたポルティコ（屋外廊下）が街並に統一感を与え、所々に地下への入口が設けられている。


This town caught a fire in 1405 and the half of all was burned down. After that stone buildings were built and they leave medieval mood until also today.
Same height porticos give the town-scape unity, and entrances to the underground are settled somewhere. 

通りの噴水には可愛い彫刻が施してある。

Each fountain on the street has unique statue. 

ベルンは熊（ベアー）が語源となっていて街の東端には熊公園がある。
熊を見るのを楽しみにしていくも皆冬眠中でもぬけの殻、、。


The origin of name Bern is a bear and on the east end of the town there is Bear Park.
I went to there being filled with joyful, but they were hibernating...

代わりに居た木彫りの熊達。


Wooden bears were there instead of real ones.

「パウルクレー美術館」(レンゾ・ピアノ、2005）へ。熊公園の前、Bärengrabenから12番線トラムに乗り終点のZentrum Paul Kleeで降りる。
遠くからでも目につく、うねる外観。


To "Paul Klee Museum" (Renzo Piano, 2005". Get on tram no.12 at Bärengraben, in front of Bear Park, and off at  Zentrum Paul Klee, the last stop.
The swelling outward can be recognized from far. 

近づいてみると連続する鉄骨曲線で作られていて、あまりマッシブな印象は受けない。


It is made by continuous steel curved-frames.

中には展示室だけでなく子供のためのスタジオがあり、色々な作品が展示されていた。


Inside there are not only exhibition spaces but also studios for children. Many their works were exhibited there.

ロビーにあった美術館のコンセプト模型。
地面をつまんで持ち上げた様なボリュームから、建物がランドスケープと連続したものとしてデザインされたことが分かる。

A volume picked up from the ground means that this museum was designed as continuation of landscape.

実際に裏手から見てみると、丘の斜面と一帯となったボリュームの様子が見て取れるた。


From the back side, indeed, the volume could be seen as to connect to the hill seamlessly.

ミュージアムショップには日本で行なわれた展覧会のカタログも。


In the museum shop, there was a catalogue of Klee's exhibition in Japan. 

パウル・クレー美術館を後にしバラ公園へと向かう。
Zentrum Paul KleeからSchosshaldeへ行き、そこから歩く。
ここからはベルン旧市街を見渡すことが出来る。
同じ素材で作られ、同じ高さに揃えられ窓割も似通った建物も、川に向かって下がる地形にそって展開する事で堅苦しさは感じない。


Left Paul Klee museum for Rose Garden.
Get on the tram at Zentrum Paul Klee and off at Schosshalde, then walked about 15 minutes.
Whole Bern Old District can be seen from Rose Garden.

「ハーレン・ジードルング」(アトリエ5、1961）へ。
多様な家族形態に対応出来る様に4つほどの住居タイプが用意されている。
各住居は2階あるいは3階建てで、内庭を持っている。
内庭が内部化されているものもいくつか見受けられた。
入口付近にはガソリンスタンド、スーパー、プールもある。


To "Siedlung Halen" (Atelier 5, 1961).
It has about 4 room types for various family types.
Every rooms are two or three stories and have inner gardens.
Some Rooms changed gardens to the inside.
Near the entrance of the site, there are a gas station, supermarket and pool.

最後に「ウェストサイド」(ダニエル・リベスキンド、2008）へ。
ショッピングモール、ホテル、映画館などからなる複合施設。
単純なボリュームのファサード内で素材の切り返しを行なっている部分より、ボリュームとテクスチャーを対応させそれらが複雑に絡み合っている部分の方が面白い。


At the end to "Westside" (Daniel Libeskind, 2008).
It is a multi-complex of shopping mall, hotel, movie theater and so on.

ショッピングモール内部はリベスキンド色全開。


Inside the shopping mall was full of Libeskindism.

日がくれるとスリット部分が赤く光り何とも不気味。


After the sunset slits are shining red color. It was so weird.
