ロカルノには一泊したけれど夜少し出歩いた程度。ロカルノ映画祭が開かれる都市。


Stayed at Locarno for one night and walk around at night. Locarno International Film Festival is hold here.

世界遺産、ベリンツォーナの古城のひとつカステルグランデへ。


Went to Castelgrande, a part of Three castles, Defensive Wall and the Market - Town of Bellinzone, the World Heritage.

新しく設けられたエントランス。

New entrance which was built in the base.

上に登るとベリンツォーナの街並が城壁によって様々に切り取られて見える。

From the top, townscape of Bellinzone was cut by castle wall variously.

続いてカミナダの作品が多くあるフリンへ。カミナダはフリン出身で現在もここに住みながら活動している。

地域の伝統構法を用いながら、読み替えや抽象化を通して独自のデザインへと昇華させている。
それ故に建物が建っている街を歩き回った後に彼の作品を見ると、雑誌で見る時とは全く異なった印象を受ける。
彼は現在ETHで教鞭をとっているが、そのスタジオはとても人気だそう。
スイスには大都市が無い反面、場所に根ざしたローカルアーキテクトの需要が高く、彼はひとつの良いロールモデルなのだろう。


Next, move to Vrin, there are many Caminada's architectures. He was born there and work also today.
He respect traditional ways of construction and change them his original way by replacing and abstracting.
Because of them, after walking around the sites I had totally different impression compared to the first time to see them, on books.
Now he teaches in ETH and his studio is very popular.
In Switzerland there are no big city, but many local architects on each cities. He is one of good examples .

最初は霧がかっていて周りの様子が分からなかったけれど、霧が晴れると大きな山が現れた。

Big mountain appeared suddenly when fog was clear.

フリンを後にして最終目的地へ。車中から見える風景がとても美しい。

最後に訪れたのはデュビンにあるカミナダの小学校。

Final destination was a primary school in Duvin by Caminada.

カミナダの作品は紙面で見た時には何が良いのか、在来の建物と何が異なるのか分からなかった。

しかし実際に村を訪れその中で彼の作品を見てみると、伝統構法を参照しながらシャープな輪郭を保つ事で在来の建築が持つ柔らかさとは異なる質を獲得し、ひとつの強い表現足り得ている様に思えた。

When the first time I saw Caminada's work on a paper, I couldn't understand what was good and different to local buildings.

But after visiting the village and seeing his works in village-scape, I could find that he not only refers traditional ways of construction but also keep outline so sharp and it makes his works unique.
