生憎の曇り空ながらとても透き通った海。隣駅のモナコは人で溢れかえっているけれど、ここは人気もなくひっそりとしている。
About 30 minutes from Nice, went to final destination of this trip for Corbusier, Cap Martin.
It's cloudy but very transparent sea. Next station Monaco was very busy but here was so silent.
「カプマルタンの休暇小屋」(ル・コルビュジエ、1952)
コルビュジエは1965年、この小屋の下の海で心臓発作に依って亡くなる。
「ロンシャンの礼拝堂」で感じた建築的プロムナードの外部化がここでも強く感じられる。
ここではより建築の占める割合が小さくなっている。サヴォア、カプマルタン、ロンシャンへと至る変化は興味深い。
"Le Cabanon de Le Corbusier" (Le Corbusier, 1952)
コルビュジエのお気に入りで良く食事をしていたというレストラン「ヒトデ軒」は小屋の横にある小さな扉でつながっている。
そこに描かれた壁画にはコルビュジエの手形、ぴったり！
"L'Etoile de Mer" is his favorite restaurant and connected to the cabanon by small door.
My hand fit to his handprint on the wallpainting.
「E1027」(アイリーン・グレイ、1929)は工事中のため入れず。
"E1027" (Eileen Gray, 1929) is under repair and we couldn't enter it.
そこから30分程歩いてコルビュジエと妻イヴォンヌのお墓へ。
Then went to a grave of Corbusier and his wife Yvonne.
空はぼんやりと曇り、空と海の境界が見えない。
Sky was cloudy and a border between sky and sea couldn't be seen.
その後バスでモナコへ。
この辺りを走っているバスは何時間乗っても片道1ユーロ、しかも15分程度の間隔で走っている。
Then went to Monaco.
カジノやホテルの前はスーパーカーのショールーム状態。
In front of hotels and casinos, there were like show space of super cars.
さらには個人ジェットの専門店も。スケールが大きい。
There was also shop of private jet.
高架の下にある小さな教会。
A small church under a bridge.
高台や海岸沿いにはホテルやヨットなどきらびやかな雰囲気が漂うが、一転斜面沿いには古びたマンションが立ち並ぶ。
On the high place and along sea shore were luxury mood, but on the slope there were old apartments.
高台にあるモナコヴィル地区。公の機関や宮殿がある一方、旧市街が広がっている。
On Monaco Ville district there are not only public institutions and the palace but also an old district.
モナコ駅を後にしニースへと戻る。
Left Monaco for Nice.
