DAY 104

ロンドンへ出発。ユーロラインという格安高速バスを利用しておよそ7時間の長旅。

国境沿いで同じ建物の中で出国・入国審査の時の挨拶が仏語から英語に変わるのが面白い。

EU内を旅行してもパスポートにスタンプは押されないので久々のスタンプ。

Left for London. We used Eurolines, cheap rapid bus, and it took about 7 hours, so long trip.

In the same building of border language staffs talk change from French to English between departure control and immigration.

When traveling in EU I cannot get any stamp but I could get in this trip.

海を渡る際はこのような貨物コンテナの中にバスごと入れられる。外も見えずバスから降りられないし極めて窮屈、だけどほとんど寝ていたので関係無し。そんなこんなで無事ロンドン到着。

When cross the sea border our bus entered the container like this. We couldn’t see outside and get off, so uncomfortable. But it was no problem because I slept almost all time. Then we arrived at London without trouble.

ヴィクトリア・コーチ駅。今回の旅行の目的の１つ、リヒターの展覧会を見るべくテートモダンへの行き方を確認し、いざ出発。ロンドンの地下鉄はoysterという日本のSUICAのようなカードがあり、2日以上滞在するなら買った方がお得という事なので早速購入。

Victoria Coach station. We checked the way to Tate Modern, where the exhibition of Gerhard Richter is held now, and left for it. Bought an oyster card, which is pass for underground train in London.

ロンドンの横断歩道にはバーが描かれていない、何故？

London crossings have no border lines. Why?

レンゾ・ピアノ設計による高層ビル。ものすごい高さ、何気にこういうピラミッド型の高層ビルは見た事が無い。上に行く程利益率が上がるはずだから非効率なのでは？

High-rise building designed by Renzo Piano. Too high and I hadn’t seen such a pyramid shape high-rise building. I think this shape is inefficiently because more higher level more expensive the price of rent.

そしていよいよテートモダン到着！！高校生の頃から見たいみたいと思い続けていたリヒター、感激ひとしお。内容は初期の写真を引用した作品から最新作のアブストラクトペインティング、ガラスを使ったオブジェまで、リヒターが如何に多様な表現を試み続けて来たか（そして今も試みているのか）が分かる。閉館まで3時間ほどあったが全く足らず（じっくり見ようと思ったら5、6時間は用意していた方が良い）、泣く泣く会場を後に。しかし2月からはベルリン、6月からはパリでも同じ展覧会を行なうらしいのでそこでまた見に行こう。

Finally arrived at Tate Modern!! I had been looking for seeing Richter’s paintings from high school age. Was deeply moved. In the exhibition we can trace his history from early photo quoted paintings to newly abstract paintings and sculpture of glasses, and can understand how various way he has been trying. It was 3 hours until closed but it was too short (5 or 6 hours are needed) and went out from an museum crying. But same exhibition go around to Berlin from February and Paris from June. I will go.

外に出るともう真っ暗。

When we went out it was completely dark outside.
