DAY 081

For the presentation in the studio next week, teachers told me as reference Jan De Vylder and Madelon Vriesendorp.
Jan De Madelon was born in 1968 and is architect works in Ghent. After studying in Sint-Lucas (my studying school) campus Ghent, started his office in 2000, won several prize and exhibit the 12th Venice Biennale in 2010, Which Kazuyo Sejima (SANAA) coordinated. His simple hand-drawings and model and plan with unique material and color are good to refer.
Madelon Vriesendorp was born in 1945 in Holland and is designer and Rem Koolhaas' wife. At first she worked on the restoration of old frescoes and as a designer of stage costumes, books and jewelry, then, in 1972, she moved to New York with Rem Koolhaas and cofounded OMA. She made several design presentation of early OMA and the Cover of Delirious New York is well known.

DAY 080

These days I often eat frozen french fries.
1 kg for 0.6 euro, so cheap.
But bread for the breakfast, french fries for the lunch and pasta for the dinner, it is not good...

DAY 078

I went to Brasserie Cantillon Brouwerij, the last traditional brewery in Brussels.
We can see machines, most of them is original, and can drink the beer made in there at last.
The most important room, where alcoholic fermentation is done, has original balance of microorganisms and they do their best to keep it. For example, when re-roofing they use not only new roof tiles but also original ones, and spiders, which web we can see everywhere in the building, are made use of to exterminate harmful insects and keep the balance then it is prohibited to clean their net and kill them. So I could understand brewing is strongly connected to nature.
But the taste of beer is unfamiliar to Japanese...
